From time to time, I dive into topics around leadership and how we work in our personal and business worlds today. From challenging you to be more mindful and to embracing happiness, I feel that regular personal assessment is critical to successful communication today. If we can’t effectively communicate with ourselves, we can’t successfully communicate with others. As I was thinking about this very topic, three really amazing TED talks popped into my inbox that offered well articulated takeaways on creating our reality and developing purpose without being too hard on ourselves for what makes us unique. Take a half hour to watch them and maybe apply the exercises to where you are today.

What Reality Are You Creating For Yourself

Do you always fear for the worse? Is life always a struggle? Is that really true or are you making it up? In this video, Isaac talks about how reality isn’t something you perceive; it’s something you create in your mind. He challenges us challenge fears and assumptions; if we let them go…then we can really move forward.

How To Understand Your Inner Potential

Are you one of the many people that don’t last six months in a job?  In this video, Scott talks about what makes people fulfilled and asks, “Why are you doing the work you are doing?” His three-part process helps you figure out what matters to you and how to make what matters the work you are doing for the rest of your life.

Why Some Of Us Don’t Have One True Calling

In this video, Emily describes the kind of people she calls “multipotentialites” — who have a range of interests and jobs over one lifetime instead of one true calling. Her talk validates both singularity and multiplicity in who we are as people. She also explores what happens when the two personality types work together. Ultimately, by finding those people who compliment us, we can succeed. Embrace it and move forward.
