CASE STUDIES

MJ Biz & ReMIND Conferences

SEO and Digital Strategy

The Brief

Both MJBiz and ReMind Conferences faced significant drops in organic traffic following Google’s Core Algorithm updates, which heavily impacted sites with AI-driven content or less-optimized structures. Both conferences, which heavily relied on organic traffic for registrations, content engagement, and lead generation, saw substantial declines in visibility, negatively affecting overall website performance and user engagement.

The goal was to restore traffic and search rankings while addressing the deeper, structural issues that led to the loss. Unlike many sites that leaned into AI-generated solutions, our approach was to return to foundational, human-centric SEO strategies—optimizing content based on user intent and traditional keyword strategies. The challenge was not only to regain lost visibility but to build a long-term, sustainable framework for SEO that could withstand future algorithm changes.

Our Approach

For both the MJBiz and ReMind Conferences, we started with a comprehensive SEO audit to identify the root causes of their traffic loss following Google’s Core Algorithm updates. This included an in-depth review of technical SEO aspects, such as crawlability, site speed, mobile performance, and overall indexing health.

We then conducted a detailed content analysis, focusing on improving relevance, user intent, and quality, ensuring all content aligned with Google’s E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) guidelines. Instead of relying on AI-generated strategies, we prioritized traditional SEO methods, refining keyword targeting, updating meta descriptions, and restructuring pages to boost their rankings and user engagement.

Our work extended into technical SEO improvements, where we optimized site speed, improved mobile usability, and resolved any crawl errors that were affecting search visibility. We also restructured the internal linking strategy to enhance navigation and distribute link equity efficiently.

Our SEO Process

  • Based on the audit findings, we set clear objectives, such as increasing organic traffic, improving the rankings for specific keywords, or reducing the bounce rate on high-traffic pages.

    • Content Optimization: Based on keyword analysis, we rewrote or update existing content to improve its relevancy. We focused on enhancing user intent, adding long-tail keywords, and ensuring content meets Google's guidelines.

    • Content Creation: We created new content is created based on keyword gaps identified during the audit.

    • Cluster Strategy: We grouped content into thematic clusters, which means building pillar pages (comprehensive pages on broad topics) and creating supporting articles that link to the pillar pages.

    • Fixing Crawl & Indexing Issues: We addressed any technical issues that might prevent important pages from being indexed. This involve d restructuring the sitemap, adjusting robots.txt files, or resolving crawl errors.

    • Improving Site Speed: We addressed factors slowing down the website (e.g., reducing image sizes, optimizing code, enabling browser caching).

    • Enhancing Mobile Experience: We fixed issues with mobile layouts, and ensuring that mobile versions load quickly and provided a good user experience.

    • Implementing Structured Data: We added structured data to improve how content is displayed in SERPs (rich snippets, product info, etc.).

    • Rank Tracking: We used SEMrush to track the rankings of key target keywords over time.

    • Performance Reports: We regularly provided clients with reports that show changes in organic traffic, rankings, backlinks, and conversion metrics.

    • Ongoing Optimization: SEO is not a one-time effort. We monitored and and adapted our strategy to changes in Google's algorithm, user behavior, and market trends.

    • Disavow Toxic Links: We used Google’s Disavow Tool to remove toxic or spammy backlinks that could be harming the site’s rankings.

Results

Within three months, our efforts helped both MJBiz and ReMind Conference regain 25% of their lost organic traffic. By focusing on traditional SEO methods and enhancing the content to align with Google’s E-E-A-T principles, we restored rankings for key industry-specific terms. The technical improvements we implemented—ranging from faster site speeds to better mobile optimization—also contributed to longer user engagement and improved visibility.

Learnings

Our approach reaffirmed that modern SEO methods, when applied with precision, remain highly effective in recovering traffic after algorithm updates. Focusing on human-centered content, relevance, and user intent allowed us to bypass the pitfalls of overusing AI content. Moreover, providing the internal teams with comprehensive tools and guidelines demonstrated the importance of empowering clients to manage their own SEO health long-term, creating resilience against future algorithm changes.
